So much is happening at the 'Shack!
Good Lord! So much is happening at the ArtShack! Where do I begin?!? Our art classes have been going great! We are ending up our Adult classes as well as our Children's classes for the Fall Session. We are currently taking enrollment for the Winter Sessions! Check out the info on our classes on our website! The Children's classes will have their "Student Art Show" the last week of October in the Odyssey Art Studio in the rear of the ArtShack Gallery. Friday, Nov 2 we will have a "drop in" reception from 4 pm - 6 pm. The children have been learning about 20th century artists such as Louise Nevellson and Pablo Picasso. Please come by to check out their 20th century inspired art pieces!
Jeff Weese's Adult Oil Painting class will meet at Riverfront Park on Saturday to paint "Pleinaire" - you can watch Jeff at work painting at the SC State Fair from 3 - 4 pm in the Moore Building Today!
Another Artist from the ArtShack, Thor Thorvaldson, our Japanese Animai instructor, will also be demonstrating at the SC State Fair - please stop by the Moore Building and say hello to our talented instructors!
Coy & the Collaboratorz played last night at the ArtShack - if you have not been to one of their "jam sessions" at the 'Shack, you have missed a great time! The early drizzle brought the party indoors for the evening, but did not dampen anyone's spirits! I think it was the best show yet!! Greg Robinson popped in late, but joined right in and sang - wow! Dick Vogt also made an appearence with his Docimer and played with the Collaboratorz. You can see the band at play at the Seibels House (1601 Richland St)on Friday, November 2nd at 7 pm - they are playing for St John's Episcopal Church's Fall Fling Sponsored by St Claire's Guild - you can buy your tickets at the door for $20 (All proceeds support Youth Missions for the church).
I would like to thank Trace Ballou and Kristina Mandell, my "Garden Angels" for all of their work out in the ArtShack Alley. Over the last week, they have planted and cared for the beautiful plants out in our Alley - take the time this fall to sit out in our new beautiful outdoor space and soak in the wonderful fall weather! You may even see these two lovely ladies out in the Alley enjoying the outdoor space themselves......
Don't forget to enjoy some of our great locally roasted coffee, Cashua! Check out their new website! www.cashuacoffee.com
